Sony's HDR-HC1 High Definition Camcorder

Sony's HDR-HC1 is deemed as the first affordable High-Definition video camcorder. For about $2,000, consumers can get a true HD camcorder loaded with exceptional features. The camcorder also includes a touch screen interface, decent manual controls, and the ability to shoot still pictures.

New JVC HD Camcorders Announced

JVC announces the release of four hard-drive based Everio camcorders-- GZ-MG20 and GZ-MG40 (both hold 20GB), and GZ-MG30 and GZ-MG50 (both hold 30GB). Each camcorder includes a 1.8" hard drive and weighs 14 ounces. The most appealing feature is the fact that you won't need to purchase a large number of removable media such as miniDV tapes or DVD discs. The new camcorders can record video straight to its own internal hard drive. This is JVC's third generation of Everio camcorders. All four will be available in August.

Nyko's iPod Movie Player

The Apple iPod and iPod accessories have become the new trend, and Nyko certainly tops it all with the introduction of its iPod movie player. The player basically takes any iPod, iPod mini, or iPod photo and transforms it into a full-fledged video player and recorder. That's right, a recorder, which means you can use this nifty player to record live TV or record direct from a camera. It has two 3.5mm video ports, one for video out to a television and another for video in. Some of the other features include a 3.6 inch 680 x 480 65k color screen, a dock connector for reading files off any mini, 3G, 4G, or photo iPod, two separate head phone ports for two people to listen and watch at the same time, a USB and power AC port, and much more. Nyko plans to release its movie player late October or early November.
