Streamload maximizes your music collection
I'm happy to share another sneak peek at the new system with you today -- our new music locker, where you'll be able to organize and access all of your media files more easily than ever. When you upload your file to Streamload, our system will automatically recognize the type of media file you're uploading, then organize it accordingly. Based on your audio file's existing metadata (the ID3 tag of an MP3, for example), the system will automatically categorize your files by Genre, Album, and Artist. This way, if you know you're in the mood for Electronica, all you'll need to do is filter by Genre and then choose "Electronica" from the list. All your Electronica songs will then be at your fingertips.
You'll also be able to create and publish playlists, which is probably my favorite music feature. I have a "Cocktail Party" playlist, which I used to provide some mood music for a get-together I had on Friday night. Playlists are a snap to create, and it saved me from having to make mix CDs! (The mixed drinks, however, were free flowing!)
Speaking of snaps, here's a snapshot of what the music locker will look like:
I wish I could share larger screen caps of the interface, but I can't. Since our engineers are still putting the finishing touches on the new system, I'd hate for you to become disappointed if it changes somewhat between now and release day. That being said, you don't have too long to wait: the release date, September 19, is not too far ahead!
In other news, last week I received quite a number of emails wondering whether specific features were going to be included in the next Streamload. Unfortunately, the features that I discuss in the blog are the only ones that I can discuss at the moment. Believe me, I'm bursting at the seams to share all the good stuff with you (not to mention that many of the emails I received were about features that will be part of the new Streamload!), but I can't. Besides, I can't divulge all my little secrets; I have to leave some surprises for you to find on September 19!
Cheers,
Maxine
P.S.: This page might look a little strange in Internet Explorer, but appears to render perfectly in Firefox. Sorry about that - I'll have AirWeb take a look at it once she gets back from her fabulous trip to Oahu, Hawaii (of which I am extremely jealous).
